Terms and Conditions
Effective January 1, 2026
Caliber Newport News Insulation Services, newportnewsinsulation.com, hi@newportnewsinsulation.com
Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and any insulation work Caliber Newport News Insulation Services does at your home or business. When you use the site, ask us for an estimate or schedule work with us, you agree to them.
If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us. If a signed estimate or written contract for your job says something different from these terms, the written agreement for that job controls.
What we do
Caliber Newport News Insulation Services is an insulation contractor in Newport News, VA, working in Newport News and the cities around it. We install, add to and remove insulation in attics, walls, crawl spaces and basements. We also do air sealing, which closes the gaps that let drafts through before the insulation goes in, and vapor barrier work. We're licensed and fully insured.
The services on our home page and our service pages describe what we usually offer. They're general information about the trade and our work, not a promise that every service fits every house. You can read more about who we are on our About page.
Estimates and pricing
Estimates are free, given after we look at the job on site, and you're under no obligation to hire us. Your price depends on the size of the space, what's already up there, whether old material has to come out first, how many gaps need sealing and the material you choose.
An estimate is based on what we can see and reach during that visit. Some things only show up once the work starts, like old insulation that's wet or full of droppings, damaged framing or wiring that isn't safe to cover. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you and give you the change in writing. We don't do added work or charge for it until you approve it.
An estimate stays good for the period written on it. After that, we may need to update it because material costs and conditions change.
Scheduling, access and cancellation
We'll set a start date with you once you approve the estimate. Weather, material supply and conditions we find on the job can move that date, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work areas and to clear stored items from the attic or crawl space if your estimate asks you to. You also agree to keep children and pets away from where we're working. On spray foam jobs, everyone in the house has to stay out until the re-entry time is up, the stretch before it's safe to come back inside, and we'll tell you how long that is before the day of the job.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, let us know as soon as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered materials for your job or after work has started, you may owe for those materials and the work already done, as your written agreement explains. Virginia law may give you the right to cancel certain home contracts within a set period, and nothing in these terms takes that right away.
Payment
Payment terms, including any deposit, are written on your estimate or contract. Unless your agreement says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished, and we'll give you an invoice that lists what we did.
If a payment is late, we may pause any remaining work. We may also charge the late fees or collection costs your agreement names, where the law allows.
Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover
Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something about the work we did isn't right, call us and we'll come back and look at it.
Insulation makers' warranties on their materials pass to you as far as the makers allow, and we don't add to them. Apart from our guarantee and any written warranty in your agreement, our services and this website are provided as is, without other warranties, to the extent the law allows.
We don't promise a set drop in your power bill or a set temperature in any room, because those also depend on your heating and cooling equipment, how the house is built and how it's lived in. Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from roof or plumbing leaks, pests, storms, other contractors' work, or changes someone else makes after we leave.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Caliber Newport News Insulation Services isn't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of a room or higher energy costs, that come from our services or this website. Our total liability on any claim about a job is limited to what you paid us for that job.
We aren't responsible for conditions that were there before we started, like hidden water damage, mold or faulty wiring, unless our work caused them. The information on this website is general and doesn't replace an on-site look at your house. Nothing here limits any liability that Virginia law doesn't allow us to limit.
Settling a disagreement
If you're unhappy with something, call us first at (757) 527-8669. Most problems get settled with a visit and a straight conversation, and we'd rather fix it than argue about it.
If we can't work it out after talking in good faith, we can try mediation if we both agree to it. Otherwise, either of us may take the matter to court as described in the next section.
Virginia law applies
These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Any court case about them will be brought in the courts that serve the City of Newport News, unless the law requires a different place.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time by posting the new version on this page. A change applies to use of the site and to estimates given after it's posted, and it doesn't change a written agreement you've already signed with us.
